Last Sunday saw the Ridge Redbacks take on the Moree Boomerangs in the minor semi-final of the Barwon Darling Rugby League Competition at Spider Brown oval.
The first game saw the Walgett Dragons advance to the grand final after a commanding 52-20 victory over Brewarrina Golden Googars.
The Dragons confirmed their status as premiership favourites scoring 11 tries to the Googars four in the major semi-final.
In beautiful conditions, the in-form Redbacks played a hard-fought game against the Boomerangs.
Some good running from the forwards laid the platform for some spectacular tries.
Accurate kicking from Ben Power saw the Ridge lead 34-22 at half-time.
The second half saw the Ridge lay on two quick tries and jump out to a good lead before the Boomerangs upped the pace and began a strong comeback. A try in the last minute gave the Boomerangs what was thought to be the win. But on the final countback the Ridge won 48-46.

This weekend will see the Redbacks travel to Brewarrina to take on the locals for a place in the grand final in Walgett the following weekend against the Walgett Dragons.
