Young gun gains state polocrosse selection

POLOCROSSE: Jessica Lawrence, daughter of Bowling Club secretary manager Gary Lawrence,

has been selected in the under-16 years mixed Queensland polocrosse team to compete at the Australian championships at Perth in October.

The 14-year-old was selected after competing at Chinchilla the weekend of July 12.

Jessica is the youngest member of the squad and recently played with her Queensland team at the Tri-state Championships held in Albury in May 2008, with Queensland victors defeating NSW 17-6.

Jessica’s high achievements in polocrosse have seen the youngster represent southeast Queensland for the past two years.

She has represented the North West Plains before moving to school in Warwick.

Manly Warringah Rugby League Club has thrown their support behind Jess to help with the costs of her trip

by donating club merchandise and memorabilia to be raffled these include a framed signed 2001 Northern Eagles Jersey.
